“For our God is a consuming fire.”
Where It Comes From in the Bible: From Hebrews 12:28-29, echoing Moses in Deuteronomy 4:24. Because we receive an unshakeable Kingdom, we serve God with reverence and godly awe, for our God is a consuming fire who purifies His people.
Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29, KJV). From Hebrews 12:28-29 (echoing Moses at Mount Sinai in Deuteronomy 4:24). Because believers receive a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, we stand before God in reverence and awe, knowing His holiness is a consuming fire that refines everything impure.
