“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Where It Comes From in the Bible: Spoken by the Lord to Joshua at the banks of the Jordan River in Joshua 1:9 as he stepped up to lead Israel into the Promised Land: a command to be strong and courageous because God Himself walks with us.
Be Strong And Courageous (Joshua 1:9, KJV). Spoken directly by the Lord to Joshua at the Jordan River in Joshua 1:9 after the death of Moses. As Joshua stepped forward to lead Israel into the Promised Land, God anchored his courage not in human numbers, but in His own unfailing presence.
