In the seventh chapter of Daniel, the prophet watches four terrifying beasts rise out of the sea, each representing an earthly empire built on force. And when John saw the glorified Christ on Patmos in Revelation 1:14 ("His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire"), the imagery of the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man met in one Person.
